All Things Festive in Preparation For Our First Christmas!

The magic of Christmas has truly come alive at Highwood Care Home as we celebrate our very first festive season together. There has been a huge sense of excitement and togetherness evident throughout our home, from putting up our beautiful decorations to the joy of community outings there truly has been so much going on.

Our residents have been busy embracing all things Christmassy, and it has been heart-warming to see so many smiles along the way. A highlight of the celebrations so far was heading out into the local community to pick our Christmas decorations. This special outing gave our residents the chance to enjoy the seasonal buzz, see the Christmas lights, and choose the perfect festive touches to make Highwood feel even more warm and welcoming. It was a wonderful opportunity to build upon our connections within the community, share memories, and truly immerse ourselves in the magic of this time of year. We even grabbed a sausage roll and a coffee at the local café!

Back at Highwood, the festive spirit continued with plenty of laughter, carols, and even some very special visitors from the North Pole! Santa and his cheerful elves made an appearance, spreading joy and leaving everyone with twinkling eyes and happy hearts. Moments like these remind us of the importance of bringing people together, creating memories, and celebrating the joy of the season.

These activities not only allow our residents to socialise with different groups in the local community and get involved with the joy and excitement of the Christmas season but it's also been a great way to highlight the sense of belonging between residents and our team at Highwood. It is important to us to ensure residents continue to do the things they love most no matter what their care needs are.

The festivities are far from over! We are thrilled for friends, family and the local community to join us for our Christmas Fayre on the 17th of December, from 3 pm-6 pm which will be a magical afternoon filled with festive cheer and fun for all ages. We are hosting a variety of Christmas stalls for our visitors to browse for those perfect last-minute gifts, a visit to Santa’s Grotto for the little ones, and of course, plenty of mulled wine and mince pies to enjoy.

Our residents are having a magical time and we couldn't think of a better way to spend our first Christmas! Here’s to the rest of December being filled with laughter, warmth, and plenty of festive magic at Highwood Care Home.
