Engaging Bideford College Students in Health & Social Care Career Discussions

In a proactive initiative to foster career exploration and community engagement, representatives from Highwood Care Home recently visited Bideford College's 6th form health and social care program. The aim was to shed light on the diverse career paths within the care sector and raise awareness about opportunities at Highwood.

The visit was orchestrated by reaching out to the head of year, and we were met with enthusiasm from both the school and the students. Highwood's team engaged in meaningful discussions with the students, delving into the rewarding prospects and career progression available in the health and social care field.

We believe in the importance of educating and inspiring the next generation of care professionals, our goal was to not only discuss career options but also to showcase the fulfilling work environment at Highwood.

During the session, students gained insights into the diverse roles available in care settings and the invaluable impact they can have on individuals' lives. Moreover, the visit served as an opportunity to highlight upcoming opportunities at Highwood, including part-time employment and volunteering positions.

"We were delighted to introduce students to the vibrant community at Highwood and the array of opportunities awaiting them. We hope to nurture a collaborative relationship with Bideford College, supporting students as they embark on their career journeys."

Highwood Care Home eagerly anticipates future collaborations with Bideford College and remains committed to empowering individuals to pursue fulfilling careers in the health and social care sector. Through initiatives like these, Highwood aims to inspire the next generation of compassionate care professionals while fostering stronger ties within the local community.
