Our Kingsley Dementia Community is Officially Open!

We’re proud to share the wonderful news of the official opening of our brand-new residential dementia community, Kingsley. This exciting development marks another step forward in our continued journey to provide high-quality, person-centred care for those living with dementia in an environment that feels safe, homely and full of opportunity.

The success of our home continues to grow, and we were delighted to welcome both new and existing residents into our thoughtfully designed Kingsley community. This community has been created with calmness, familiarity and dignity in mind as we want to give our residents a true sense of home whilst they receive first-class support around the clock.

To mark the opening, one of our residents cut the blue banner, and we had a celebration! Our residents had a great time trying out all of our new areas, sitting in our armchairs and finishing off with a snack in our cafè!

Our dementia friendly community provides a nurturing space where residents' routines can be gently supported, their independence is encouraged, and meaningful connections are made each day. There is a variety of both communal and private spaces where our residents can relax and continue doing the things they love.

To support our commitment to delivering the very best care, we recently welcomed the Dementia Bus to Highwood. This is an immersive experience designed to help staff and visitors better understand the experience of those living with dementia. This experience has strengthened our person-centred care approach and has inspired further training and reflection among our staff. It was also a clear demonstration of how we continue to invest in both our people and our environment, so every resident at Highwood receives care that is delivered with kindness and deep understanding.

As our Kingsley community begins to flourish, so too does our wider home. The opening of this suite brings new opportunities for connection, development and support – for residents, families and the team alike. We are proud of the work we do each day and look forward to growing together in this next phase.
